Description

This two-lesson module examines the biology behind learning and how our mindset, our attitudes, can positively impact learning. You have the opportunity to evaluate your mindset at the beginning and end of the module.

Lesson One, Brain Biology, focuses on how individual and groups of nerve cells function, how nerve cells change and grow, and the kinds of activities that cause nerve cells to flourish. The lesson explains how neural networks take time to grow and develop, and how you can strengthen your neural networks.

Lesson Two, Mindset, explores how our mindset impacts learning. The lesson examines the work of Professor Carol Dweck and the differences between fixed and growth mindsets. The lesson then describes research on mindset and academic success, and how mindset programs have positively impacted a variety of educational programs, including bar passage classes. The lesson concludes by explaining how we can change and develop more productive mindsets, as well as specific steps you can take to change your mindset.

This module gives you the tools to examine your mindset and make changes that work for you.
